Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James
Fifty Shades Darker? no. more like Fifty-Shades-of-Total-Fucking-Bullshit. i seriously don’t believe that there has been a series of books written more poorly, more repetitive and more sexist as well. the amount of complaints that i have about this book is infinite. i couldn’t even finish it because i just detested it that badly. i wasn’t even reading it anymore so much as i was skimming through it because it is literally just the SAME THING happening over and over again. let’s go through the complaints, first of all, her writing is horrific. she uses the same ways to describe everything all the time. the way Christian looks, the way sex was, the way he makes her feel, the way EVERYTHING is. it is the same EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TIME. omfg if i have to read about her inner goddess one more fucking time ever again i will put a fucking spear through my chest. i would literally roll my eyes at this book but i really just wanted to press on and finish it so i could tell people how bad it was from a first person’s view. that however, did not happen because ************SPOILER ALERT************** when he asked her to fucking marry him i was done. which leads me to why this book is sexist. this woman is totally pathetic. she allows him to parade her around in whatever clothes he wants her to, he has his way with her as many times and he wants and although it’s consensual you can still tell that he clearly has a spell on her with that way that he can so easily get in her pants. also the gender stereotypes are fucking ridiculous. she is this insanely innocent woman who has her virginity taken by this man who is a dominant in there relationship like we have been taught males are supposed to be. she is this passive aggressive woman who allows him to basically run her every move from when she has to eat to when she gets to see her friends and blahblahblah like a “good female” should be because she is supposed to be subordinate to her man. i just can’t believe how in love women have become with this book. it is not something that we should be completely enthralled to read in this day and age about a woman who is willing to give up everything for a man who is possessive, has so much baggage & clearly a sex addict. i can’t even think about this book anymore and a lot of people say i don’t like it because it’s not for my demographic but she is 21 like me and Christian is only 27 or something. so how is it not for people my age? whatever.
Rating: 0/5. i have never hated a book more.
